Drag. Aim. Release. Perfect Shot is a precision physics shooter built around the drag-and-release slingshot mechanic made familiar on mobile, refined with a slow-motion near-miss camera and three distinct projectile types that cycle with every hit. The standard ball arcs naturally. The heavy ball drops fast and hits hard. The fast ball flies flat and reaches distant targets. Every hit cycles you to the next projectile — so success means adapting your aim to a new ballistic every shot. Near-misses trigger a cinematic slow-motion replay and a score bonus, turning what would be a frustrating miss into a moment of drama. Chain hits to build combo multipliers and see how long you can last without a full miss.
The cycling projectile system in Perfect Shot is the mechanic we argued about the most internally. A static projectile would have been easier to ship and more forgiving. Cycling three ballistics after every hit means the aim that worked a second ago is already gone; you are now aiming a different ball with different gravity. Early playtests showed that most players either loved this or hated it. The version that shipped keeps the cycling because the alternative felt like a standard slingshot game, and there are already plenty of those.
The slow-motion replay on near-misses came from a very specific design conviction: missing should be a moment of drama, not frustration. The slow-mo camera gives every near-miss a cinematic quality that turns a failed shot into a satisfying near-event. Three different projectile silhouettes flying through the air multiply that effect because each one reads visually differently.
Trajectory previews are fully accurate, not approximations. Getting the preview to match the actual shot took surprising engineering because each preview has to simulate the specific gravity and drag values of its projectile type. Once we had honest previews, we could tighten the timing window on shots because players had real information to work with. Related physics-intuition games on the portal include Brick Breaker.
